So USA TODAY suggested BIG 12 should do nothing, continue to get the big bucks from their ESPN contract until it expires in 2025, and see what the landscape looks like then. They really should have no sense of urgency to just add teams which would lessen existing members piece if the big ESPN pie.

Such as.....

Blowing past CUSA.  Has our Commissioner come out with a similar statement? Has she even met with CUSA Presidents and ADs?

The schools they would be adding have $$ whether private or a big donor ( Houston) big 12 could definitely set a buy in price and a reduced share for the new schools until the 2025 contract expires.

It's really sad that we left the sun belt for a "better" conference to only watch the Sun Belt completely blow C-USA out of the water

The PAC? will be making a lot of exceptions they have never made in the past if the accept TCU and Baylor.  Those institutions don't favor religious based schools.

Their new commissioner came from the casino business…the PAC12 is about business, this is a new age, let’s not dwell in the past.

Agreed, but only if it's more or at least the same money they would get by waiting. The kicker is whether the BIS 12 is going to hold Texas & OU's feet to the fire regarding the combined $150 million they owe the conference by leaving. At the end of the day its about money. Personally I would like to see the eight remaining Big 12 members poach at least Cincy, Houston, Memphis, UCF, and maybe South Florida and SMU. The remaining 4 to 6 AAC football programs could shake and bake with the 10 from the Belt and 14 from CUSA. It looks like the  only way we have a chance to improve our position is if SMU moves up .

It would be great if we could get in with Tulsa, Tulane and the academy some how! GMG

It'll be interesting to see what they do, whether it's standing pat or poaching.

I definitely don't see them adding 6 teams. There just aren't that many that wouldn't be a complete drain on them the way they were on UT-OU. Houston and Memphis probably make the most sense, if I'm combining geography, stability, and fanbase into the picture. However, they match up more direcly with the smaller schools like TCU and Baylor in terms of fanbases and eyeballs than they do the Texas Techs and Kansas States of the conference. While UCF and Cincy are also in the same category, I think you'd be adding in travel costs and reducing revenue for no strong reason just to add teams.

Move up to where exactly?

The SEC obviously won't happen for UNT and the Big 10 won't take UNT with that puny endowment and lack of AAU status. The Pac-12 and the ACC have existing P5 schools to choose from and AAC schools.

The current AAC has no need for UNT otherwise they would alrewdy be here. The current Mountain West doesn't want UNT or otherwise they would be there already.

UNT could move to a depleted MWC or AAC but at that point, it wouldn't really be a step up.

FCS is another option but there's no reason to move their either.

So again, where would UNT move exactly? Don't fill yourself up with false hope. You will be VERY disappointed in the end.

Why do the mods/admin allow this guy to just constantly shit on our school as if he brings anything new to the table?

I'll bite. What's new?

Not sure the question but it's one thing to come on here as a fan of another school and discuss conference realignments and some simple trash talk the week before a game, but this guy's #1 hobby is logging into a site he has no affiliation with and just trolling and trashing up threads. A lot of people here might not like what I have to say but I'm an alumnus who actually cares about this program and can contribute to the discussion. This guy is just some random loser from the school down the road who only posts to rile people up and adds nothing. I can always just block their posts, but I'm baffled why the people who run this site have let it go on for so long.

It definitely is weird. Usually people like that have a hard time in the real world and come into this virtual domain to feel powerful.
