Impressed with Charlotte coach open practice policy

Healy announced on the media today that he has opened up all practices for the fans. Says it helps them connect more with the fans in a big competitive market with lots of entertainment choices.  Says it helps the players to connect with the fans and network.  Also helps season tickets and donations.  Sure wish we could see the same here.  I would like to know why our team practices under Littrell have been closed up like they are protecting nuclear secrets?  And please don't give me the other teams spying BS line. 

On another note, these coaches in Conference USA I have seen thus far are top notch.  Our admin may suck but the coaches are impressive in this league.

I wonder if closing practices has more to do with possible distractions than "spies".

Open practice is nice but I’d just settle for injury honesty. 
 

Blake Anderson and Steve Roberts were both awful about it at AState. There were times I knew for a fact that a player wasn’t cleared for Saturday and wouldn’t be and those goobs were “he’s day to day” or we only held him out of practice this week out of an abundance of caution. 
 

Anderson would only reliably say a guy was hurt if he was done for the year then he’d be honest so he could say well we have x guys out for the year when he landed on his butt in a winnable game. 
 

But back on topic, at least one practice a week should be designated and promoted as open to the fans unless say it’s a short week.
