With the new NCAA 12 team playoff why don’t they just drop all this P5 & G5 crap?
I feel now the G5 designation is a total discrimination against our group of FBS schools.  Hell, they get their TV money so why do they have to further remind the world that we don’t by waging name classification warfare?

That is a media coined nuisance for the sake of not allowing even the most causal college football fan to get confused about the difference in "real" college football and "G5" college football. It's all in the name of money.

About 5-6 years ago, college football media were surveyed about how much time they spend covering anything not in the P5…it was a whopping 5%.

The thing I laugh about the most on the "rankings" is how a coach can have a good season or two and jumps on the radar as a "wow, he can coach". Then other coaches who have bad years suddenly have forgot how to coach.

I trust Sporting News on baseball but football is a little out of their league.  I question that they consider transfer portals or coaching changes.  Anyway, I'd rather be underrated and appear to improve greatly than to be overrated and seem to fall flat.
