To help develop the players value and help market them there UNT needs to find a college branding company and tie that into the Brint Ryan College of Business professors and departments.  The sooner they do this the better they will do in recruiting and retaining the best student athletes.  Perhaps some alumni who have this capability could be involved.  This program will help differentiate UNT from the rest of C-USA and other conferences.  GMG

It's happening all across college football. We either do it or get left behind.

With how UNT and the department has handled stuff recently, we will probably be left out. They seem lazy about many things, and they’ll probably wait until it’s almost too late to start.

Ive seen maybe half of the FBS start a player brand identity already. We are already behind!!

So you think on the first day, UNT is behind on a brand identity program?   How do you even define a brand identity program?

As far as seeing at least 65 schools have started a "brand identity" program, what does that mean.  Every school has and has had forever a brand identity program.

However, when you are referring to the new athletes can benefit from the image rules, there is no way you could know how NT stands versus other schools.

A few schools such as UTexas have announced creation of such functions, and you can see a few images appearing, but it is way too early to pronounce NT is already behind.

we've had, at a minimum, the NFL footprint to follow. There are established industries and agents completely rabid to get into this money stream. I hope WB and Co have done some courting of those specialist.

There's no basis for this. The demand really isn't there at UNT and programs alike and that's the problem of all of this. The demand is created by the exposure. The exposure was created by major state politics even before the SWC was created. The train sort of always left the station on programs like UNT, but there was always a glimmer of hope that catching up was a possibility. This has killed all realities of that. And in foresight, attendance will plummet as will exposure.

This isn’t new to most. Many schools already had theirs set up, and yeah I was wrong about when they would set it up, but I was expecting a lot later.

It would be cool if we could contribute money to a particular player we like or reward players with cash donations after a well played ball game or a sack etc.  thoughts?

You mean like Only Fans? Hahaha

The game has changed for sure. They’re already staking their territory on social media across all sports. It’s going to be interesting how this affects all sports not just football. This is why a robust social media presence is important because that is what new recruits will care about. For good or bad athletes want that social media clout.

Not sure why you're saying this. I follow most of the teams in our league. We've been pretty cutting edge during WB's tenure. I would rank our social media content, stream production quality, game experience, etc. at or near the top of CUSA. I tihnk UNT athletics today outperforms most other CUSA and non power 5 institutions.

The fact that not one student-athlete has expressed concern on social media during the "woke generation" we live in tells me there's been communication behind the scenes with coaches and student-athletes. NIL was allowed July 1st. UNT announced a program on July 1st was one of the better known companies who's partnering with many P5s. Not sure what else could be expected . Also some schools have announced a "program" but have no outside company helping (ie UTSA). Not sure that is really a program. Sounds like it's a website and those schools aren't really investing in it.
