UNT Men's Football Locker Room – LMC Corporation Award-Winning Experts in Job Order Contracting

APRIL FOOL? 😱 Weren’t those the lockers at Fouts Field in the 80’s?

Love that door!
I’m not sure Dion could get his big toe thru it.😳

They're still better than my fieldhouse in high school.  Senior season during week 2 of the playoffs, the entire floor in the varsity locker room was torn up for repair.  we had to walk to our lockers on wooden 2x4s and stand on our lockers to get dressed.  Fun times.

The facility arms race is real.  and really ridiculous.

greenminer, but isn’t the facility arms race merely a true microcosm of life as it is in America?   You know, keepin’ up with the Joneses & all that? 😊

Fact remains & as what one NCAA FBS AD said: “If you’re not building in the FBS, then you’re going backwards.”

I would wonder if the Alabama Crimson Tide put an old broken down tool shed (made of tin)  in the corner of their stadium’s north end zone how long it would take others to do the same—in their north end zones? 😆

Why do  players even care about this glitter is great facilities?   Most probably give little regard to the real stuff that counts.

Training and medical staff

Coaches that really care about the players' well being

A degree in something of value

Now unfortunately, the money they can get for NIL

Location of school, ease of travel

Success of athletic program

For the same reason people care what their lawn looks like, whether their car is clean, whether their clothes are ironed, or whether the house is tidy before guests come over.   The same reason the military cares whether your uniform is clean and pressed.

Commitment to the small details is a reflection of your level of overall commitment to excellence.

Most definitely about all that,  emmitt01.

Bells & whistles some call it.

This is a theme you hear over and over when players speak of coaches like Belichick and Sabin. They have a relentless push to the details.

How do you equate Las Vegas like glitter to commitment?   You really think that Boise State locker room is the same as the basic maintenance items you have mentioned.?

The only commitment that demonstrates is to the athletic arms race in the hope it improves recruiting.

Save your time, Emmitt…your IQ will drop considerably trying to argue how dead-on you are about this.

Like many of you I followed much of this last year’s football recruiting here on GMG & on Twitter.  Loved reading the players responses after they had fulfilled their official or unofficial visits to our campus. Many of us offered our “congrats” to them on Twitter for having a good time & a good visit. (Of course, other school’s fans were doing the same).🙄😊

Honestly, though, I can never remember as many prospects with stars, accolades, skins on the walls & who P5’s were interested in on their check lists commenting on how impressed they were with UNT’s facilities & venues this last recruiting season.

•••Seems more are finding out about & seeing firsthand our Indoor Practice Facility which to me is the co-crown jewel to our football venues with Apogee Stadium still being the best on-campus football stadium in CUSA.  (Sorry, UAB, but your new football digs are 3 miles from your campus & you’ll share it with another school & that school’s conferences bowl game).

Back To Recruiting:  Of course, we won’t sign all of them, but they won’t soon forget their visit to the Mean Green Village & now that’s especially important if they ever enter (or re-enter) the portal.

Another recruiting positive benefit rarely mentioned are all the co-eds there are in Denton & at UNT not to even mention the world’s largest university primarily for women over in east Denton—Texas Women’s University.
One could almost call Denton the college co-ed capital of the Lone Star State.
