The NBA Trivia answer...

I didn't get a chance to confirm the answers to my trivia question: Who are the only two NBA players who have won seasonal MVP awards who have not won NBA titles?

There are actually three players with this distinction. The "easy" one I was referring to in the other thread was Karl Malone, who won two MVPs with Utah, in 1997 and 1999. I thought he'd be a dead giveaway, given his being in The Finals.

The one who I now realize should have been the "easy" one is Kevin Garnett, since he just won the award this year with Minnesota, and the T-Wolves didn't make The Finals. KG completely slipped my mind.

The other player I was actually looking for was Charles Barkley, who won the MVP in 1993 with Phoenix. Sir Charles has the trophy, but not the ring.

Kudos to Zeke, who first came up with the two I was thinking of, and to Texas Stranger, who made me realize the error of my ways. If I had a prize to give, you guys would split it...

And PerryG2480's post on the previous thread was classic...

One more thing...They showed Karl Malone sitting on the bench in the final game as Darko entered the game. You could almost read his mind:

"THAT guy has an NBA title."

Gary Payton had the same look on his face as Malone did during the whole last part of the 4th quarter...I loved it!!!
