Very simplistic view.  All coaches make recruiting mistakes.  You really think that a coach should stay with a player just because he recruited him.

Again look at the turnover at other schools, coaches are paid big money to win.

You would be happier if Jackson, Wise, Tikhonenko, Lewis, Mohamed, and Alcindor were still on the team.?

It also should be considered that this in all likelihood will benefit the players that should be able to find a place that they can play.   In Robinson's case, a year or two of juco ball maybe just what he needs.

Find me examples of successful basketball programs or any CUSA teams that don't churn players.

Mohamed was a JUCO guy.   I'm talking about HS guys.   And yeah, I know mistakes are made.  I don't expect McCasland to hit 100% on all of his HS guys.  I do hope he would do better than just 1 high school guy (Simmons, who was committed under Benford) lasting longer than 2 seasons.
I would be happy with Jackson and Wise if they felt comfortable continuing to work hard and improve their play.   I think it's fair to expect a Freshman to improve over time, and I thought Jackson played pretty well for a Freshman/Sophomore.  It's just tough to compare him to Javion when he's the backup.
And there are absolutely times where it's better to grab a more polished JUCO/transfer guy like Javion & Deng to plug immediate holes.   But even with as good as Rubin Jones and Abou Ousmane were last year, I expect them to improve as well...  I just hope they don't walk away too.

Do you really think NT would be a better team if McCasland retained these players?

I am certainly not going to question his methods.

You can complain all you want about his player management, but McCasland just took a NT team further than ever accomplished.

I suggest you at least wait till recruiting is over, and then determine if you think NT would have been better off keeping some of last year's squad.

Basketball scholarships are for one year, it is produce or move on at almost all D1 teams.  I am still waiting for an example of a successful program or any CUSA team that doesn't have huge bench turnover nearly every year.

I don’t think it is about keeping these specific guys, it is more about not signing the right guys to begin with or not developing them well.

Again, hard to complain after last year’s results but nothing wrong with taking an objective look at the program.

I suppose we'll have to see.    I believe Jackson would have been a nice contributor the next 2 seasons (he was already contributing some the past 2 seasons, but stuck behind Hamlet).   Who knows where Robinson winds up & what he does in the future, but he may very well be another guy it hurts to lose.

As for the "churning", we may have different ideas on what that means...   You may think recruiting 9 High School players over a 4-year span, and only having 3 (Simmons, Jones, & Ousmane) at the end of those 4 seasons (again, one of them was already committed prior to McCasland's arrival) remain is normal "churning".   I do not.  That's just poor High School recruiting/retention.

You keep asking for citations, but the burden of proof there would be on you my friend.    Please show me a successful mid-major school (Not schools like Kentucky/Kansas/Duke that get HIGH SCHOOL 1-&-done guys) that only hit on & retain 3 high school recruits in a 4-year span.

Yes sir.   I think GrandGreen and I are getting lost in the weeds.    And of course, if McCasland can keep killing it with JUCO transfers, then by all means, let's keep winning!
