Munoz is even, 2 early bogies and birdies on 8 and 9, after the front nine.  Leaders are currently -2.

Ortiz tees off in about 15 minutes.

Munoz finishes round one at +2 and is currently in a tie for 49th with a lot of the field still on the course.

Ortiz has had a rough start and is +4 through eight holes.

This morning on the live feed at masters.com, Carlos has been on a lot since he was out early and as he's teeing of on 11 the announcer goes into a bit more detail about his bio and mentions that he's a graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, TX ... the Mean Green ... also where Sebastian Munoz went to school.  Thirty-one years later and we are just unable to shake the former name.  At least he got the Mean Green part right, but jeez.

Ortiz just finished his second round.  He played much better today shooting a -1 to put him at +9 overall and in a current tie for 81st.  He will need a crazy miracle to make the cut.

Munoz started his round with three straight birdies, but then turned right around and bogeyed four, five and six.  He is currently at +2 overall, T35.

Isn’t this his and Ortiz’s first Masters?  If so, it has to be the nervous butterflies.

Second for Munoz, I believe.  Definitely first for Ortiz.  Interesting note, his brother got in before him playing as an amateur in 2019.

This is Munoz second Masters.  It was noted in his bio that he had shot two rounds in the 60's there in the 2020 tournament.

"Sebastian Munoz recorded two rounds in the 60s in his Masters Tournament debut in 2020 on the way to a T19"

T40th at +4. His rounds are crazy. I know this is obvious, if he could smooth out his rounds, he would be in contention. It is just crazy how he will have a string of birdies and then a string of bogeys/double bogeys.

I know Jim Nantz wouldn't say that, but it is frustrating we are still being called that. At least it wasn't North Texas University...
