I am holding out hope that the guys are still trying to find their stride glueing together offensively. I'd like to see Walker, Massie cut / drive hard to the basket. I'd also like to see some actual sets to get Wright some nice easy uncontested or semi contested shots early that way when he has to make much more difficult ones late in shot clock he's seen a few go in. I am also really excited about Lorient's progression offensively, he seems to be more confident each game. If we can get Jossell, Floyd and Sissoko to just provde 8/10 each and Sissoko will grab 10-12 Boards I really like our chances against most teams in the league. Memphis being the massive outlier as their talent level is through the roof and it appears that Hardaway has figured out the "culture" of his program as his guys are all seemingly playing together and not to get theres.
I was following the game on the old ESPN game cast while sitting in the stands in Lubbock for that great game where #6 TTU won against #1 UT very late.
It took a few moments to process what happened from the game cast but made for a great college football weekend.
It just amazes me that Boise State has done so well in football over the years. I mean, they are a permanent fixture in winning seasons, winning conferences championships, and winning bowl games.
If only...........
Basketball IS the sport at UNT. I don't have to imply that or state it. Basketball has organically taken over the athletic department. And what about football at UNT? The coaching changes or injuries or transfers? How has all this worked out at UNT? Oh, and guess what? We've had the coaching changes and injuries and transfers on the basketball court... still humming along. UNT basketball is everything UNT football wants to be but will never happen. I know that because it has never happened at the FBS D1 stage, ever. We can all keep living in this fantasy world of "one day", but it ain't happening. Other FBS D1 football schools will start to shift their funding to avenues that makes sense and will propel their basketball programs to new heights. We need to be the one of the first in order to maintain our run of success for the next decade+.
