Our official non-NT specific thread for the Big Dance.  If anyone wants to start the yearly bracket contest or any of our typical balderdash, this is where to do it.

I love the tournament for the upsets. Guessing a David vs Goliath mentality. This is ever more true since the P5 designation. Football is now always going to basically have the same top 30 just rotate in and around. But basketball still holds a place for the underdog. So besides our guys pulling a big ten upset I think Winthrop may be my team.

Never think of it as David vs. Goliath...think of it as Money and press influence vs. college basketball.

Hell, football doesn't even have a top 30 that rotate.  More like a top 12 or so.

Basketball does have more of a chance for under dogs, like your George Masons and VCUs with Final Four runs - but it is still mostly dominated with championship by the blue blood programs.  The top 7-8 or so historic programs have won over half the titles.  Even a school with terrific tradition like Purdue has never won an NCAA title.

(They do have an NIT title, but not in the era where it was arguably as prestigious as the NCAA championship)

Despite the limited fans, I'm really looking forward to the tournament with Duke and Kentucky not being in. Looks like Gonzaga and Baylor both have legitimate shots at their first national titles. That is of course, if North Texas doesn't get hot.

The Norfolk State/Appalachian State & Drake/Wichita State games were both great.  Promising start to the tournament.

Johnny's son plays for him. Pretty cool that they get to do this together.  I just feel bad because he will have to walk home backwards if we lose and then try to catch a flight back to Indy for his next game.  We better win.

UCLA/Michigan State - first game of the tournament to go OT.  Three of the first four games either decided by 1 or in OT, and the first game was good too.  March Madness is back!

Cleveland State tried but Coogs win by 31.

Waiting for the Clemson/Rutgers winner now.

UH fans hate you so much that you show up over here after a win?

Even taking out our game, yesterday had more magic than yesterday.  More close games coming right down to the end.  We did get Ohio upsetting Virginia though, so that's something.

There goes my bracket and I could not be more happy.

That was me yesterday.  I had Ohio State in the Final Four.  LOL
