Women get ODU who beat WKU in OT yesterday.

A quick scan of ODU's stats shows that they have played most of their games pretty close and are led by three players that score in double figures.  They did beat the Lady MUTS earlier this year on the road, so they will not be a pushover, but if we play as capable, we should advance.

Horrible half by NT.   Let a 5'10 player completely dominate the paint, Wayne with 15 pts and 13 rbs.  NT with lots of to's and missed layups.

I know she occasionally makes one, but why does NT have the 6'3 Gomez playing outside looking for threes?

No reason, NT shouldn't beat this team.

29-28 ODU at the half.  As noted above, their G Wayne has 15 points in the first half and we have been a little sloppy.  I expect us to settle down and play much better in the second half.

Mr. eye roll, comment or is that too much trouble, I am sure you have much to add.

Down six, 48-42, heading to the fourth quarter.  We are allowing ODU to just drive to the basket and we are still playing sloppy on the offensive end.  Need to settle down and get creative on defense or this will be a one suit tourney.

I'm certain Jalie would not have been the hire if Baker had been AD at the time but he's very qualified to evaluate the job she's doing.  Hopefully she's doing the right things off the court.  I'm not sure about on the court, though.

Villas Gomez had a great game, hope there is someway to keep her another year.

Overall, with NT almost complete lack of defense and rebounding, they were lucky to keep it close.

Mitchell has to own this first game failure against a team, that NT was heavily favored over.   NT got further behind when ODU got in foul trouble and they had to rely on what was considered  a weak bench.

Mitchell can recruit, but can she coach?  Nothing in this game indicated that.  Mitchell defense seemed to always focus on the the opponent best player and hope the rest of the team doesn't beat you.
