Uh so if we don’t win the autobid to the NCAA we are a shoe in for NIT now?

If only! Actually, the all at-large formula and reduced field this year pretty much preclude CUSA from being represented.  We are leading the conference in NET ranking at 62, as of today, but there probably aren't enough games left to catapult us into the conversation.

I was joking but if we win until the championship against WKU should be at least be in 50s of NET?

With let’s say the top 40 in the Dance shouldn’t we be really considered?

Yeah, it is possible.

So we are most likely going to have an NCAA tournament with no C-USA teams representing?

NIT tournament with no CUSA teams, most likely.

NCAA autobid is still in effect.

The world is perfect if we make the NCAA Tournament.

The world is pretty darn close to perfect if we make the NIT played on our own campus, or even in our Frisco community.

If we don’t win the CUSA tournament, I am fairly certain our season ends there.

The NIT field will only be 16 teams.

We might have a chance if we reach the championship game and play well. I am more concerned about Rice at this  point. Either way, it's a feather in our cap to host the NIT, as it give us national exposure.I am guessing it cost us an arm and a leg but should be worth it.

Between the good guys (UNT) and WKU, if they both get to the finals of the CUSA tournament hard to believe the runner-up would not get into the NIT

If Emmit is right about the NIT only having 16 teams, it’s believable.

So this is the 3rd time a tournament has been hosted at the Pit? I guess if you count the CBI.

The Pit hosted first- and second-round games of the 1976 and 1980 NCAA Basketball Tournaments.

In 1988, the Super Pit was the site of the men's Southland Conference Tournament, and North Texas rolled past McNeese State and Northeast Louisiana to capture the conference championship and its first invitation to the NCAA Tournament.

1988...Wasn't that the year we played No. 1 Drake in The Pit?
