With the win over Marshall last night, the Administration Tower was lit (lighted ?  Illuminated ?) in green.  I’ve heard that phrase for as long as I’ve been a Mean Green fan.  But what does that mean and how does it happen ?

Is there a guy at the Administration Building waiting for a call on game day ?  Is there really a switch ?  Is the Tower lighted for non-revenue sports like volleyball or golf or swimming and diving ?

I’m hoping for a green tower after today’s game.

There's an old hunchback that lives up there.

All kidding aside, they should eventually change the tower lighting to incredibly bright LEDs, and have a remotely operated timer that someone in the AD triggers after every victory.

The new top of the Super Pit should also be covered with LEDs. That place is DARK, and there is no way of even knowing that an event is taking place.

Talons does it.  Or at least they have the key to the box.

Back when I was in school, we didn't even have a key (supposedly it had been lost), but you could crack the box open and slip your hand in, if you knew how to do so.  I turned it on many times.

Back in my day it was done by the campus police upon a request from athletic department personnel (me).  I only did the authorization a few times and the AD did it most of the time.

This is how it was done when I was in school.  In fact, I found a brief video of us heading to the Administration Bldg.
