It’s becoming more common now. This guy did, but ended up committing to Duke this month.

I think, if we’re being realistic, we need to see who has entered the transfer portal from MAC, SBC, and other CUSA schools.

Kids who went P5 to start aren’t looking our way

Also look at FCS players who want a shot at FBS

P.S. For defense don't worry so much about measurables - look for players who are always around the ball and like to hit/tackle

We’ve landed 5 P5 transfers in last 6-7 months or so. Jacob Farrell from OSU, Amani Gilmore from Kentucky, Jordan Rucker from Purdue, John Davis from Texas Tech, and Logan Wilson from Kansas State. That’s probably about the same caliber guys we should probably expect, so G5 transfers, and FCS transfers need to be given strong consideration. Especially if they are proven, since most of the P5 guys don’t have much playing experience.

No offense to Lifer or anyone else, but we’re definitely going to be disappointed if we’re hoping they go after specific transfers.

At this point, with this staff I have low expectations that we will be in an impact transfer. Best I am thinking is backupd and depth. What a waste.

I would not mind if we focused on FCS players looking to move to FBS. Would rather have players who have been on the field and performing. Don't worry about stars - look for players on defense who were around the ball and like to hit.

Interesting. Looks like he was a late qualifier and was originally headed JUCO. Hopefully this is a case of wanting to go closer to home and we could have a shot. With that original offer list, however, I fear this might be a case of using the free transfer to upgrade.

We need to be all over this young man and build a relationship with the Carthage program. They had some big boys on their OL this year and just hammered Gilmer in the state final. Their QB signed with Tulane and they always have talent.
