AZ's AD is responsible for their self-beclownment with the Sumlin hire.

Sumlin is a great coach, but he needs to get back to Texas where his connections are deep.   
His team obviously pulled a 2015 Mean Green on him and just gave up.  It was time to go.   
I doubt he gets a HC job right away, but he'll likely become an OC somewhere.

As for the title, I don't think there's a way to know if Niumatalolo would have done any better.   Maybe we'll see.

Sumlin is a great recruiter - he’s not a great coach.  Dude had two 5 star QBs and lost em both.  Jimbo is a great coach.

Blame is completely on the AD. I had forgot how their "super star" QB acted at the time - he did his version of the elementary school "I will take my ball and go home" tantrum.  My point was exactly that the AD needs to make the hires based on the good of the program - not to keep a star player happy.
