UNT 35

Appy St. 20

App. St. is nothing to fear this year. Play disciplined and don't commit stupid penalties and you have a good chance to win. They're going to try and bait you. Don't take the bait and play disciplined.

Disciplined??? You have surely not watched us play

No better time to start then in a bowl game. Besides Tech winning nothing would make me happier this bowl season then seeing UNT beat App. St.

Their fans on the CUSA board are insufferable.

Except for the fact that our defense is going to get demolished on national TV with no other football games on at the time.

NT is going to roll into this game with a losing record, which will rub most people the wrong way already.
Then, we're going to get killed by a Sun Belt school (albeit a good one) probably something along the lines of 51-20, and all the casual fans who watch are going to think, "Wow, why does North Texas even play in FBS?".
2 years ago, we were actually positioning ourselves to be a player (at least, considered) when conference shakeups occur.  2 seasons later, we're about to get killed in a bowl game to push our record to 4-6.  4 wins for the second year in a row.

The "exposure" you mention about above IS the negative.

Just remember that Victory’s in store whatever the score. A low bar is even memorialized in our fight song.

if you think anyone outside of CUSA/SunBelt fans is going to watch this game, you're nuts... it's 1:30 on a Monday afternoon. national exposure only means something if people tune in.

all that being said:

App St. 52

UNT 42

North Texas is down by 17 heading into half and exchanges TD's in the second half, but the game is never in doubt, classic NT

A lot of people keep ESPN on just because.   So yeah, I doubt there are going to be a ton of people setting their DVRs for the game & sitting down intently to watch this game, but there will be more eyes on this game than any other game we’ve played this year.

Um, you missed the subtle difference in punctuation they wanted to believe in.   You sorta proved them wrong and tore apart their dreams.

In checking on this, the AD site actually has different punctuation, with a period after “victory’s in store” thus making it the YMCA T-ball version. I choose the alumni magazine’s version that properly uses the comma, thus making it a fight to the death for victory.

With that many the odds are good their player might run into someone and trip 🤦‍♂️

Running the 3-3-5 defense but it is actually 335 defenders at once.

How bad is this negative?

In a couple weeks, life will go on, the water cooler talk will stop, and we can start shifting our eyes towards 2021.

We've had embarrassing losses on national TV before yet, here we are, we are about the sign the highest rated recruit in program history, a vaccine means COVID will start to fade away in 2021, and the the program will play in 2021 and beyond.

My hyperbole radar is starting to redline and it is such a whip.  How about we chill out and enjoy an extra game of Mean Green football? App State is an awesome program.

The difference between the thrashings we took in New Orleans & New Mexico VS this one is that we KNOW it's coming this time, and this time we don't have a 9-win regular season record to back up why we're even there to begin with.    So a passer-by watching might react to those games like, "What happened to North Texas today? They're supposed to be better than this!", whereas a passer-by watching this weekend is going to think, "Well, that's what happens when a 4-5 team goes to a bowl.  NT sucks!"

It's been very difficult to "enjoy" Mean Green football games lately... and the main reason I have enjoyed them this season revealed he's going to skip it to prep for the draft.
