I love the series we have going with SMU in football, and I think one in basketball would be just as cool. Alternating between the Super Pit and Moody Coliseum every year. I don’t know if this has been discussed but I would love to see it.

its come up a few times before...

when it comes to OOC scheduling I think both schools look right past each other, though they tend to play some of the same schools (I'm watching HBU play SMU as I type this).  I do think it would be a good game, though a loss might really hurt with local recruiting.

We will never play them as long as Jankovich is the coach at SMU...thanks so much, Craig Helwig for making this possible.

This metroplex basketball tournament is suggested every year. Makes way too much sense to ever happen.

SMU only plays NT in football because they need the fans in the seats.  NT travels to Dallas fairly well, but alas SMU bring very few to Denton.

Overall basketball scheduling for all teams has become an embarrassment. Few teams ever play a tough oc home game.  The exceptions are big time programs that can be paid large amounts for marquee games.

Look at NT out of conference schedule for a classic example, heavyweights on the road and lightweights at home.
