There is no doubt that today's athletics overall are bigger, stronger, faster. etc. Records seem to fall in all sports with almost video-game numbers. Not taking away for the great players today. however, are they really more skilled than the players from the 70's and 80's for example?

Football - What would some of the passing numbers look like if QBs could not hang in longer due to the protections? What if DB's could cover the receivers like they used to? And last, what if the receivers were not allowed to where the "magic" gloves?

Basketball - For all who question if MJ is the Greatest of all times - How would most of today's stars do if they played at a time when teams were allowed to play defense without getting  fouled called on them and players were actually called out for palming the ball and traveling?

Golf - Would be fun to see one tournament where players had the equipment and balls similar to the 70's and 80's. Side note - The Masters is considering implementing their own ball spec in the future

Tennis - Wood rackets for one tournament

Baseball - This might be the one sport where technology has changed the game the least (will leave the Astros out of this). MLB showed what could happen when the juiced the ball.

Again. I know it will never happen, but this is part of the fun when we try and compare players and teams from one generation to another.

We need more Network Stars, and I demand that they battle for my amusement.

Also, the Olympics have only been half as good ever since we started getting half as many Germanys in them.

Absolutely devastating to the Goodwill Games industry...

Not to mention the delays in the development of steroids. The memories of those Soviet-bloc women weight lifters
