This is the part that stands out the most to me.  Gotta wonder where we could be if McCarney didn’t think like a dinosaur...

”It’s a serendipitous return to Denton for Evans, a native of the area whom McCarney’s staff did not recruit out of Sanger High School.

“They told me I was too short and if I wanted to play there I could come walk on,” he said.

Evans signed with Tulsa. He is now the Golden Hurricane’s all-time leading passer.”

Yet we signed McNulty who was smaller.  McCarney was nothing but a carnival barker.

Just came here to post the same. Infuriating. 2014 with Evans would have looked a lot different. 
Oh the other hand, maybe there is no Mason Fine in that alternate reality. 🤔

....so then maybe we would have had a conference title or Bowl game win on the books.  I'll take that any day over gaudy stats.

They have yet to Contact Sanger 2022 Rylan Smart. Sister throws on the Women's Track and Field team currently, and is being courted by larger schools.

Maybe one of these days they will do a highlight film showing the QB threading the needle (multiple times) over the middle on 3rd down to keep a drive going, rather than a long pitch and catch to a receiver that has badly beaten a DB who will never make even make honorable mention all district as a DB.

 

One time I saw a highlight reel for Manzel and my first response to the highlight was "who the hell is #25, that guy makes him look great!"

      Great game, Memphis is a good team and this one came down to the end. However I am still baffled by UNT's inability to inbound the ball, this is a trend that has been going on for a few seasons now. There were several times today that they would inbound the ball directly into a corner trap, many of those instances resulted into a turn over.

      On the road with no scoring from our leading scorer. I love these guys effort. This is fixable when we see them in conference Tourny!!

      Mean Green Fall At No. 21 Memphis, 68-64

      The Mean Green (10-4, 1-1) got a career performance from senior big man Moulaye Sissoko who poured in a career-high 17 points on eight shots and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in the four-point defeat. North Texas’ Brenen Lorient scored a team-high 18 points and was one of four different Mean Green players to score in double figures. Senior Jasper Floyd had 11 points to go along with a season-high six assists. UNT outrebounded the nationally ranked Tigers (12-3, 2-0) 30-21and forced them into 15 turnovers and just seven assists. “If you have told me we would force them into 15 turnovers and just seven assists and outrebound them by nine I would have really liked our chances,” said head coach Ross Hodge. “But it was that stretch in the second half where we didn’t handle their press well and we ended with 16 turnovers. We’ll regroup together and get better from this together.” The Mean Green have a quick turnaround as they host Rice on Wednesday at Super Pit at 8 p.m. CT. UNT is 8-0 at home this season.
