We’re about to see a whole lot of grad transfers. All of the seniors and redshirt juniors graduating this year while getting an extra year of eligibility, and with seniors not counting towards the 85 limit next year. P5s will be happy to pluck the top G5 talent to replace the guys they lose to the NFL.

Consequently, a lot of P5 players will probably be encouraged to transfer if they aren’t projected as future starters, to make room for future incoming freshmen. Especially current redshirt juniors. It would be wise of us to be in position to pluck some more P5 grad and sit-out transfers. Especially if we lose some of our top guys to grad transfers, which we should expect.

Also could say the same for transfers in general

 

A school 30 miles down the road kicked his pathetic team's a$$ for the past 2 years largely due to this.

If he needs to read an article to know this, then we've got bigger problems.

He especially shouldn't need to read an article to know this ... considering that Seth and Sonny are close friends too.

      Vito kicking UNT in the nuts again

      Vito is lost in sports writer hell. He lives by the standard that it is the job of sport writer to be neutral. I imagine he is as tired of covering NT as a lot of NT fans are tired of his coverage. He is lucky in a way that the DRC is still one of the few newspapers that still exist. He has won a lot of awards, not only because he is a competent writer; but there is little computation.

      2025 Projected Depth Chart

      I know this is still subject to change, but with a lot of transfers signed I figure we have enough to get a pretty good idea on what our depth chart will look like next year. This includes all scholarship players and walkons who are in the depth chart. Did my best guess based on Sam Houston’s positions listed on their defensive depth chart (12 spots based on the packages) and where our guys were listed, as well as their guys who we are bringing over. Took some best guesses with guys who weren’t in the two deep/newcomers. Save your comments about how the transfer portal sucks and this could change so much between now, etc. That was always the case this many months out, but we have a pretty good idea based on the guys who actually play or we are bringing in. The bottom of the depth chart guys leaving is expected but doesn’t really change things.       Chris Jimmerson

      So similar to Jimerson's recruitment in that nobody really wanted to give either a scholarship at QB. Thanks for the insight. Colorado just signed ESPN's #2 overall prospect in Julian Lewis at QB. If Lewis works out, how does it benefit either party for Jimerson to go sit on the bench behind a top QB prospect? They also signed one of Jimerson's teammates so clearly they aren't high on Jimerson as it is.
