Should be interesting to follow.

Personally, I don't believe extreme talent always translates into teaching skills.  I've seen some really good players (and musicians) that just "got it", and didn't relate to students that needed to work to learn it.

I wish him all the best, except when we're competing with Jackson St lol

If he succeeds he's gone after 2 years, if he doesn't then he's there 2 years before he tires of it and goes back to joining the media. I'm not sure if he's ready for the grind that it takes to be a CFB coach, especially at somewhere like Jackson St.

You may be right, but Sanders doesn't strike me as a person climbing up the coaching tree like other career coaches.  He's already an established media mouth.  He might just be "seeing what it's like", perhaps hoping to coach his son.

Working the NFL beat has always been secondary to Deon. Since his playing days, he has always coached kids. More recently, as the OC coordinator at TCCH, AAA/Focus and Prime Prep Academy. His summer AAU team was billed The Truth. He has never taken a salary. The NFL gigs evidently paid the bills. He generally flew out to the studios the day before games and often time has done remote assignments from Prosper before moving to Cedar Hill. He’s had 3 sons to coach/follow and now feels he is free to accomplish his dream of coaching on the college level.

Good points. I wonder if his son will follow him?
