Will have to wait and see the smu game to see who the real starter is. Bean looks good but they are playing HBU.. WR have also been making it very easy

This was my observation.

I’m not exactly so blown away by Aune in his one possession that I wouldn’t keep Bean as the starter.  Both have thrown a long pass to a WIDE open receiver.

Aune’s deep was was right on the money, if the ball wasn’t in that perfect spot it turns into a jump ball.

Problem solved. Bring in The Kason!!!

a little worried about our D getting no sustained pressure. HBU has self destructed on several drives. Will be interesting to see how they adjust and perform in Lubbock next week.

Felt like we saw what the coaches saw. Easy to see why both QBs were neck and neck, easy to see why neither were able to separate. Big test in two weeks, but we have the playmakers to put points up on SMU.

They looked separated by a mile in this one game.

I don't how much better Bean could have been in this game.

Aune may have a higher ceiling, but Bean looked more ready.

Based on what I saw, I'd pretty much roll with Bean going forward.

Aune has a higher ceiling? Josh Rosen is looking like a bust 23 while Aune is 26.

I was surprised at Aune’s wheels... Then Bean housed one and looked like he was in fast-forward while everyone else was real-time.

Unless Bean was skipping balls off the turf I’d stick with him for this reason alone.   Defensive coordinators have to know that, if you over pursue of turn your back on him, Bean can tuck and pick up big yards.

I didn't say he did.  I was acknowledging it as a possibility, simply based on the fact that he was a highly regarded recruit out of HS who has spent years away from the game.

I agree. I wasn’t terribly impressed with any of the QBs. Bean seemed to improve on his throws a bit and may have been facing some nerves early, but there were some probable INTs against real opposition. Too many underthrows.
