Let's be honest here.  This year's QB is not determined and it will be a redo of what happened with 2016 and Alec Morris.  Get ready for Aune to start and someone to take his place.

I should say that I am hoping that Aune is our Paul Blake btw.

I don't care who wins the starting QB job, I just want someone who will be successful.  I just know that what I saw from Bean last year was not good.  Hopefully he's greatly improved if he's still challenging for the job.

This feels (as others have mentioned) like 2014 all over again.

Hopefully the QBs dads don't come on here physically threatening people when their names are mentioned in a negative light after throwing INTs.

The difference is i have confidence in Littrell to spot good QB talent. I had zero confidence from Mac.

Most likely situation feels like it’ll be Aune starting, then Bean rotating in next. That was what they did in the scrimmage last week and it sounds like neither did anything that day to prove one was the undisputed starter over the other.

That scrimmage was the conclusion of fall camp, and they went into season practice structure last week, so a lot more ones vs scout team and less ones vs ones. Hard to imagine Aune completely usurps the starting QB role in that type of setup, and even more hard to imagine Bean leap frogs Aune and becomes the undisputed starter in that setup.

If we can give our quarterback time to throw he can be dangerous.  I keep thinking about Smith from LATECH, he was not a great qb but his line gave him so much time to throw he was a good qb.  NO quarterback can be great if they are running for their life.  we saw that last year.

Bean will be the starter

Very likely. But who will finish is the better question. They should play both the first game for sure.

Brune watched the last scrimmage and said they both were not very good.

I said this before, but we have been spoiled at QB for 4 yrs.  I dunno if Brune was spoiled as well and he’s comparing these two to Mason & they look bad (then maybe they’re not actually bad)...  Or, if he’s truly looking objectively, then we’re in serious trouble because our OL is very shaky.

Either way, it appears we’re in transition mode & we need to lower expectations from QB play, at least early on.

Let’s just wait and see what shows up on the field. Hope for the best play we can get at that position. I hope we are all pleasantly surprised. These guys both played behind MF and saw what he did everyday. Maybe they learned along the way.

Amen.  Give these young men a chance.
