"For as different as they are on the field, both have learned how to be leaders and both have each other’s support and respect. Regardless of who gets the start, each one is prepared to fill the historic shoes Fine left behind."

Aune aka Brandon Weeden. I gotta believe his previous experience has to give him a leg up in big moments.

Aune, he has the poise and maturity. He has a good arm and is nearly as fast as Bean. In 100 meters Bean would pull away sure but for the first 20 that matter, it’s gotta be pretty damn close.

Hopefully Bean simply because him being a threat as a runner will help what was a bad offensive line replacing 4 starters.

But I have no idea the sample size was too small last season and a lot of time has passed since anyone has seen them or a number of young players. Considering how many players are in the freshmen/sophomore classes we will see a quite a few unexpected names on the depth chart.

Aune.  More accurate passer and more mature.

Agree!  Bean looked like it was all going way too fast for him and he was super nervous. Aune, looked calm and just was a play maker. I keep hearing Bean has speed and all but from what I could tell Before last fall was Aune can scoot also and made some hella plays too! I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Aune as the starter atleast by game 2 or 3.

wish them all the best, just my prediction.

Shitposting aside, give me Aune.

I think Bean is gonna be a turnover machine. I think he's gonna try to rely on his legs too often to make plays that will turn into forced interceptions and fumbles.

Notice in Brett's article how SL gives more praise to Bean and Martin and regarding Aune says basically "oh yeah, he did fine too"...that's coach tactic to keep the #1 humble and hungry.  I think Aune is the guy.

Reading some of these comments, it seems many think NT has a bunch of all star qbs just waiting to be released.   In fact, NT is without any proven QBs, they have a group of good candidates, but none has accomplished anything noteworthy on the field.

Aune, and it is not close.

The thing that worries me is that Bean has looked bad (really, really bad) in the limited time I’ve seen him in live game action while Aune has looked better (a lot more poised, specifically)....but Bean kept getting named the #2 and is still in the running for the #1.  Either Bean is a stud in practice, we haven’t seen enough of Aune to be equally worried, or the coaches are playing mind games on these two.

Wasn't Brock Berglund also a stud in practice? Josh Greer was amazing in practice.

Seems like we've heard that before.

If they're really playing as fast as they say they are, I think Bean has a better shot. Littrell has told us we're gonna play fast for 5 years and it still hasn't happened in real game situations. If we see the same offense we've seen for the last 5 seasons, then Aune will be much better IMO.
