Good observation. I'd contend the sample size is too small to make general predictions but so far, it looks to be a good indicator.
I wonder if we won't see some incentives for freshmen recruits such as an additional NIL "bag" or bonus for graduating 4 years down the line as long as you never enter the portal. Spin it like once you graduate, there will be a meet and great event with donors, proceeds go to your graduation "gift" and it gives you a chance to network with people who can land you a job. Looking at regular students, there's always a scholarship pool for traditional students coming straight from HS and another pool for transfer students. The benefits and requirements aren't the same and I can see the same happening to entice freshmen to stay all 4 years. Once they get to year 3 and are well developed college players with a spot in the 2-deep, why not stay that 4th year for that additional NIL payment once you graduate. Conversely, if you're a guy struggling for PT but you're a good depth guy, why risk that final payout by entering the portal when you're pretty confident you won't get big offers elsewhere.
@BillySee58 the only one I'd argue is Isheem Young should be starting at safety. Getting to see him just a little bit he is the real deal. Injury sucks but I think he has more ability than most at that position.
Other one I'd like to see change is MLB, I think Brown or Burrell dethrone Weslowski this season but we will see!
I don’t want to sound like a hater on this dude, because he’s obviously a good player, but if he’s getting $8 million then there’s clearly a problem with NIL
