No worries. According to some here there is a "contract" so they will  must pay us 🙄

I am pretty sure the sentiment was if we DO play - we get money. You asked why we assume we would get money if we PLAY them.

Every contract has a buy out clause.  The fly in the ointment is there probably is a 'circumstances beyond our control, or  act of God, etc.  So, they probably can wiggle out due to 'act of God'.

Even if the contract did not have buy out language, it is essentially a contract between two different "departments" of the same state government.  I'd imagine it could be completely unraveled with the stroke of a pen by Governor Abbott, particularly under these circumstances.

Edit: I mean force majeure language. Not buy out language.

If they still play football then they can’t use the act of god excuse.

Right.  I would think if they decide to keep conference games in place, then it's not an act of God... it's just an excuse.

NT would need to play this game or otherwise get the money somehow if the HBU game is going to happen.   Otherwise, instead of a $750k net positive, there's a $1.75m net negative on the budget.

So it's official, no TAMU game this season... is it too late to get a replacement game or what?

SEC football schedule 2020: League will play 10-game, conference-only slate beginning Sept. 26, per reports

C-USA likely needs to follow suit instead of looking to find replacement games.   It's a bad look, especially if players come down with it during the non-conference schedule.

"I’m concerned what this means for the little guys in college football."

Am I the only one who is offended by the aggie AD's use of the words "little guys"?
