So, what exactly is the point of this article?

If you want good people, it is going to cost.  I have no problem with what we are paying any of them.  I just wish it could be more.

Old Denton doesn’t like UNT sports, especially football. All they see are expenses that could be used for other areas they really like...

Could just as easily read "UNT stepping up efforts to improve the Defense."

I hope he is able to lead us to improvements that help us win. He is well worth it if it allows Seth to focus on the offensive side and we improve on both sides.

Just saying, I am more than OK with the O-Line coach being "paid a hefty sum" if he can fix/turn our line into one of the teams strong-points

Coaches were hired before the pandemic so the salaries would not have been out of line at the time...especially for the quality that we are getting.

I believe that this coaching staff is a vast improvement over the 2019 staff and will have more wins even with the tougher schedule.  They've had more time to get acclimated to the system and the players due to the virus and the players seem pleased with the coaching changes.  I'll be terribly disappointed if we're not bowl eligible this coming season.

If seen through the lense of a fan that wants UNT to take sports seriously, this article is a positive development.

Any other spin on this and you're probably wanting a reason to whine about Vito.
