With so many new players and coaches at key positions it’s next to impossible to know what kind of Mean green team takes the field in a few short weeks. Just my thoughts on toughest to easier game:
1. At - Texas A&M

2. At - Houston

3. At - UAB

4. Home - La Tech

5. Home - SMU

6. At - Middle Tennessee

7. At - UTSA

8. Home - Southern Miss

9. At UTEP

10. Rice

11. Charlotte

12. Houston Baptist

I feel we get revenge against the ponies. Utep is always a tricky game out in the Sun Bowl. Houston and Aggie will be flat out tough. We play Southern Miss well in Denton.  La Tech plays well in Denton. Rice and Charlotte are improved but we get them at Home. UAB and Middle are two places we never or rarely seem to win.

I'd put smu before Houston only because of their QB.

Agree.  Buechele could easily carve up our secondary pretty good this year.  I don't see a win against the ponies.

Southern Miss is too low.  They have a lot returning.

MUTS don't have a QB and will be a mess.

smuT is too low and should probably flip flop places with UAB.

Those first 5 listed above are just way tougher than the next 7, combined. And UTSA, while looking at us as their Super Bowl, is just terrible. They are probably only better than UTEP and HBU on our schedule.

Your first and third comments are spot on. But I think this guy would disagree with your MUTS comment:

2600 passing at 62%. Over 1000 rushing. He is going to be a challenge.

As much as it pains me to say it, especially if things were "normal", I think this could be a very special season for the ponies.
