Facebook is doing their best to make sure the problematic olds can understand their own posts.

Facebook  announced Thursday that it would introduce a notification screen warning users if they try to share content that’s more than 90 days old. They’ll be given the choice to “go back” or to click through if they’d still like to share the story knowing that it isn’t fresh.

Facebook acknowledged that old stories shared out of their original context play a role in spreading misinformation. The social media company said “news publishers in particular” have expressed concern about old stories being recirculated as though they’re breaking news.

“Over the past several months, our internal research found that the timeliness of an article is an important piece of context that helps people decide what to read, trust and share,” Facebook Vice President of Feed and Stories John Hegeman wrote on the company’s blog.

Facebook and the others have every right to edit their content if that is what they choose and then let the users decide to use or not. However, at some point they should  not be allowed to be considered platforms and receive the protections legally provided that platforms receive versus edit content pages.

One in which people prefer to live their existence in either a liberal or conservative echo chamber.

I've been thinking about this a good bit lately before seeing your comment.

While I do agree echo chambers do exist on both sides, I think they are significantly different (unbalanced).

It's extremely easy to be in a pure echo chamber of the left, given that the majority of information (MSM, social media, etc.) is left leaning.  You have to actively pursue alternative information.  Whereas, if you wanted to be an an equivalent level of echo chamber on the right, you'd have to stay away from the major communications platforms and only go to the alternate locations.
