Glad to see someone liked that graphic of our eagle mascot enough to have it tattooed.  I’ve seen others on here refer to it as the Daffy Duck Scrappy.

People that complain about the black as a tertiary color don’t remember the days of blue and gold mixed with the green and white.

I always thought that was a cool looking logo. Glad we have the SOW now though for a modern and unified look.

The eagle head was way too close to the Philadelphia logo. I remember back when they were rebranding, RV told me that people used to walk up to coaches/staff at airports asking them if they were with Philly.

Back then, people were not stupid enough to declare the blue and gold accents as 'new official colors'.

You never saw people, especially university employees, running around in gold or blue Mean Green shirts, and those colors were never more than outlining on athletics uniforms. Now, the identity of the university is severely compromised as gray and black have become the dominant colors for merchandise and uniforms.

Yeah, it looks like shit and has nothing to do with Green and White, but it's extremely easy for sportswear companies to get, so therefore laziness prevails.

Why go through the effort to produce kelly green spirit wear when nobody really gives a shit at North Texas.

Gray and black t-shirts are the norm as far as t-shirts go. In addition to white of course. So we are lucky in that sense. If our school colors were green and gold, I would not expect all clothing to be only in those two colors.
I would rather see an alum in a grey T-shirt that says NT on it than no NT gear at all.
Not sure why the older guard wants to die on this particular hill when there are so many other battles to fight to improve our situation.

I thought it was odd choice but she didn't really care about my opinion.

Kind of like when sportscasters used to call us NTSU DECADES after our name was officially changed to UNT (as it should have been in 1961).  AND when lazy sportscasters, Sports writers, and sadly, many alumni/students at North Texas believe that we got our notable nickname from Joe Greene......instead of the other way around.

The original and (IMHO) ONLY Scrappy......

I recently met a man from Santa Clara, California, who's wife, by the way works at UC Santa Clara, home of the Banana Slugs.  He asked if Denton wasn't home to NTSU.

Still a lot of work to do.

GO MEAN GREEN
