SAN ANTONIO — UTSA announced Friday that it will play a pair of future nonconference football games against Army West Point.

The Roadrunners will travel to West Point, N.Y., for the first time in program history to face the Black Knights on Sept. 10, 2022, at Michie Stadium.

In 2023, UTSA will host Army, an FBS Independent, for the second time on Sept. 16 at the Alamodome. The two teams first met on Sept. 14, 2019, in San Antonio.

The Sept. 10, 2022 road date with the Black Knights gives UTSA four nonconference contests that season. The Roadrunners will host Houston on Sept. 3 and they will welcome Texas Southern to the Alamodome on Sept. 24 one week after traveling to Austin to play Texas.

Better them than us.

Totally agree. Army does little for recruiting, a total re-tool of your D for that game, and the cut blocks are terrible on your d-line knees.

Yeah, even better if they have them scheduled for the week before us.

We need to compare who we have on those weeks the will be playing Army. If we actually get to play our games, I like our schedule better.

Sept. 10, 2022- Cal @ North Texas (I'm still waiting to hear that this game will happen, or that we are hosting a comparable P5)

Sept. 16, 2023- Memphis @ North Texas (UTSA's game with Army is scheduled for Thursday the 14th, which means it's going to be on TV)
