Does working from home instead of the office count? Cause hell yes. The constant sounds of a 5 year old will drive a man mad.

We both work in the travel industry, which of course has been crushed.  My spouse has been furloughed, and I’ve taken a temporary 25% pay cut. Hoping upon hope it doesn’t get worse for us.

yes, but not in a negative way (well negative in how i teach, but positive in that i barely work yet still get paid the same).  it's weird.  i teach, well sort of.  teaching in denton during this virus has made my life easier and i work even less than i used too, but it absolutely sucks.  i put out 3 assignments a week...see if they turned it in and pass them.  that's what i'm supposed to do.  no new teaching,...it's been a boring 8 weeks of stupid review videos and webquests.  kids are appreciative of it (they have told me it helps keep them busy) but it absolutely sucks.  i hope i never have to teach from home again.   no way is it the same as an in person class with discussion, rabbit holes to run down, fun interaction with the kids.

those schools that are going to online only for the fall will hurt those students the most.

How can anyone say “no”

I have worked from home for almost 10 years now. So in that manner, nothing has changed for me. With my company, the pandemic has created new demand for more IT solutions to adapt to how retail has changed drastically since March.

No. I used to travel back to homebase once, sometimes twice a year but I couldn't tell you the last time I did that.

Ok...was curious.

My wife and I both work from home and our travel is totally gone. (not that I'm complaining....but it does make it a little more difficult)

Yes. Several of our patrol and even admin have tested positive. I've been tested twice, and the second test was inconclusive, so I have to get tested a third time. On top of those who tested positive, more have been sick and been told to stay home out of caution. Our CID has been working from home the past month. And on top of that, we had more out for surgery and maternity leave. Last week we had 3 people on duty covering 800 square miles.

I'm gonna go with yeah.

I was in Germany when all of this started. Work (Government Sponsored Enterprise) and the CDC made me stay at home for 2 weeks. So I worked from home. Once my 2 weeks was up, I went back to the office. We are considered essential, so I have been back in the office for 6 weeks now.

Based on my limited research and amateur opinion, I have seen a lot of reports of unreliable tests depending on the stage of the virus in the person. For example, an antibody test would only test if you had it, not if you actively are suffering from it.  I hope you're safe and you don't have it.

Thanks. I don't wish for anyone to get it. They say that some people have it but show no symptoms. That's the scary part. Some people could be infecting others and never know it.
