They sweep the Red Sox and have the best record in baseball. Yes, it's May 2nd. But I don't care. I have defended the Rangers too much on this board to let this moment slip away without mention.

The Ballpark is so much more fun when the Rangers are good. I hope they can keep it up.

I was gonna post something about this and you beat me to it. Being a longtime Rangers fan, I have to fight the urge to feel like "of course this won't last". But I just want to enjoy this right now and not worry about some sort of implosion. Now my question is: Would be have been playing like this with ARod still at short? Who knows. I do know that with Soriano in we really really got a special player.

I truly am excited about the Rangers right now. I can only imagine how pumped I would be if in Sept. I was talking magic numbers with yall.

I was there for the double header yesturday, and it was electric.

From the sound of it on TV, it was even more so tonight.

The "SWEEP" chant.....greatness!!!!

Even better than us with the "Pedro" chant last night.

Best record in the ML and a team ERA of 4.15, the bullpen with a 3.52 including Benoit's 2 starts as he is still the 6th man/long reliever.

The second game on Saturday was a little bit chilly, but it was still awesome to see the Rangers rough up Pedro like that. The cold weather, the high level of play, against the Red Sox...it gave us a little taste of what October ball could be like. The Pedro chant made me smile. I also enjoyed seeing the rowdy centerfield bleacher section giving Damon such a hard time to where he was actually saying stuff back. Fans were getting into it. It has been a while since I saw the Ballpark that juiced.

Now if Herbert Perry would have only hit a homer in the taco inning. There was a rather large food loving guest of mine that was very upset he did not get a free taco. I think that's the only reason he went. laugh.gif

I'm just glad the Ballpark is a positive atmosphere again.

I felt like throwing up. We can't afford to be swept by anyone and think about holding off the Bombers. I am too scared of them to be satisfied with a 25 game lead.

Nothing against the Rangers though.

i read that at the beginning of the game (ranger) fans were cheering for Pedro?! I was shocked and appalled! This is one thing I hate about most sport fans down here... is the fickleness they have. A Red Sox fan would NEVER cheer for a Ranger (or any other team member) unless he was a Red Sox player. And that's the way it should be. Total loyalty to your team no matter their record... just like us true Mean Green Fans!! I know there are true blue Ranger, Cowboy, Mav fans, etc. But, to read about cheering Pedro then taunting Pedro just made me shake my head in disbelief. C'mon people, I know Pedro is good but where o where does your heart lie?!

ok, that's my gripe for the day. thank you for listening smile.gif

Who wrote that? We were chanting "Pe-dro!" to get in his head, but it wasn't a positive thing. There were some Red Sox fans that cheered when Pedro was introduced, but it wasn't loud or anything.

But you are right, fans around here are very fickle and it is annoying.

I was out at the games last nite....I have been both a ranger and red sox fan for awhile now.....my red sox seeds run with mostly with nomar and the traditions.... I am not a huge pedro fan but he is a legend of this era whether he is throwing 100 mph (few years back) or throwing old people....he is famous...and the fans last nite were on his back like no other....almost as bad as when the yanks came in here back in the day of the playoffs....the fans then were brutal....it was fun last nite...cold as hell but fun!!!! I got to hang out some of my friends and one of our UNT lady basketball players...no complaints here.... Part of me was hurt that my sox lost but more of me was estactic when "Spanky" Blalock took Pedro yard.....

As a lifelong Rangers fan (though the A-Rod years were tough to follow...hated him before, hate him more now), and a Red Sox fan for a little over a couple of years (thanks to the excessive amount of time I spent in the Massachusetts area last year)...last night was alot of fun. I didn't really care who won or lost...I had on my Sox hat and my Rangers shirt...cheered for both teams...which confused the hell out of the people around me.

I think the Rangers might finally have something special this year. I know it's early...but maybe they're finally getting things together. Gotta love Blalock and Texiera...

Go Rangers...Go Red Sox! (Just don't make me choose if it comes down to it in the ALCS)

You are eiher for a team or against them.  Cheering for both teams?  I just can't comprehend that.

Saturday night was a great night to be at the Ballpark. I was there with some friends, we saw a few people there sporting a mean green hat....that was probably one of you guys! We sat right above the crowd chanting "Pedro" (where any of ya'll in that crowd with your shirt off? ) thought that was pretty funny...especially when they pulled him off the mound...lol...great to have the Rangers "back in the swing of things" I have always been a Rangers fan and a fan of winning...It's great to have the two back together again!

Well...I should clarify. First game I was all for the Red Sox. The second game I was rooting for the Rangers.

If the Rangers play anyone else...I'm for the Rangers all the way (just ask MrStrange about my baseball TV viewing...I scream at the TV when Texas messes up). I'm just back and forth with the Sox. If it comes down to a playoff series...I'll have to flip a coin.

Oh yeah, I saw alot of Mean Green gear out there, too. Several folks in my section were sporting NT hats....and we had a good talk about Mean Green football with the guy behind us.
