Despite all that we still had a chance to win. Which means, our offensive failed to get us points on the board. I don’t understand the love of throwing these quick routes to WRs to let the run after contact. We can’t block out there, and only one is capable of that…DT Sheffield. Yet, these quick hitters and WRs screens seem to be a staple of EM’s air raid offense. Are you really airing it out when the passes are to the LOS?
That was the start of three terrible calls from the officials. Don’t forget the PI that wasn’t to extend that next drive. Then the fumble that got stolen. Pretty clear who the conference wanted to win that game. Still, the game was there for us to take and the failures in the red zone are 100% within our control.
This is our modus operandi. Every year we’re hopeful, but soon realize no matter how hard and fast you pedal, the stationary bike doesn’t get you across the street. We lack a culture that other prospects can hang their hats on. That’s a byproduct of the coach/AD you hire to lead.
From my view of the second INT in the North end zone, it appeared there were two receivers running towards the left sideline. Morris threw to the trailing receiver. The receiver closer to the sideline was (wide?) open.
