He was making $1.6mil at an SEC school.  This is about twice what UT was paying Karen Aston.  I know there is a money printing press in the basement of Memorial Stadium but I don't understand how they can increase his pay enough to lure him from Miss State.

What's his new salary?

Digging around, I saw that prior to Miss St ,he did not have a great record at SHSU.  He had one winning season out of 7.  UT will be his 3rd stop as HC.  That SEC money really helped, eh?

That is the normal process, has nothing to do with ethics. 

Not always, but it is hardly unusual to have a replacement ready before a termination.

That has all to do with Money... Shaka has years left on his contract. Ashton did not.  All schools have to make smart decisions right now as they lost lots of money with not spring sports, and no basketball revenue from post seasons.  Shaka won some games down the end that bought him one more year.  He needs to move away from the 1 year rentals and get the core built.
