Both are great teams.  Would be fun to see who would win between the two of them.

First, let me say I L-O-V-E-D the 2010 squad.  TT is still my all-time favorite Mean Green baller.

With that said, I’d take this year’s team by 5 on a neutral court.  Their defensive intensity, depth,  and overall athleticism would win out.  If you’re going starting 5 vs starting 5 then it’s a toss up though.

This team has a better back court (which seems like sacrilege to say to me), but it's close.  This team is deeper at guard, but it's not like Alzee was a slouch (even though he blossomed as a sophomore, not as a freshman) and Shorter did a bit of everything.  I think Tramiel and Odufuwa would dominate the interior though - no disrespect to Geu and Simmons.

Close game either way.  I'd probably go with this team, but it'd depend on my mood.  Today I'm super high on these guys...ask me in a few weeks.

The 2010 team was during my tenure (2011 graduate) and I absolutely loved watching this crew play. Have to agree with @emmitt01 that Tristan was probably my favorite to watch. I also met Cameron through a mutual friend and he was a super nice guy the few times I hung out with him. Josh White, of course, was another favorite. Odu would dominate the interior. Our current team reminds me a lot of the 2010 team - they're both just fun to watch. I think the 2010 team definitely had more height to them, but this team is spunky and moves the ball around really well. I'd give '19-'20 team the win, but not by much.

I feel like Alzee could frustrate Javion a little, defensively.  Alzee was a lockdown defender.  And Josh had the biggest competitive heart I’ve ever seen in Green/White.

That said, if Mo & Javion are on, those dudes just make it rain.  Would be a wildly entertaining game.  Watching Hamlet & Thompson trade buckets tit-for-tat would be awesome, exciting basketball.

talent level on the court would be a toss up but i think this years team would have the advantage in coaching talent.  Dont get me wrong, JJ was a good coach, but i think McCasland is a step above when it comes to Defensive game planning and in game adjustments.

This team is sorta based off defense. Now with that being said, you can't stop someone leaning their entire body into to draw a foul *Cough Hollingsworth Cough *

Neutral Court being the Super Pit or Bahnsen Gym?

The 2010 team was great. I was a student in the rowdy pit crew at the time, but I think this team beats them by 5-8 points. Josh White vs Javion Hamlet would be a fun fun matchup. I do think Odufawa and Tramiel would beat Simmons and Geu. Overall this team plays a bit better defense, and McCasland and Staff would out coach Jones and staff (and I love me some Johnny Jones)

2010 Team was strong.  That would be a close game.  Unfortunately only Tristan Thompson could score against K-State in the Tourney.  Only 3 points for Josh White......that didn't happen very often.   K-State would lose to Butler in the Regional Finals.  Their guards tore us up.

Not the end all be all, but from an analytical standpoint, it isn't really close.  Some of the better teams highlighted below...

I only partially understand all these newfangled number breakdowns, and while I do think they are meaningful, I also think some people rely too much on them.

For instance even though the '08 team ranks higher than the '07 squad that mostly comes from taking the whole season into account like those numbers do.  I would definitely pick the '07 team to win if both were playing their best...come March that '07 team was way, way better than a 15 seed.  I even remember some WKU folks saying we looked like a 12.
