He is class of 2020. I believe this was a walk on offer. He said it was an opportunity to play at the Division 1 level,  of explicitly that it was an offer as in scholarship offer.

I think you are correct.  He looks a little "raw" in his video regarding footwork, etc...

Yeah

Thought so. Can’t find any stats online, other than he was a 1 year starter.

I covered Gombert in HS. He only got one year as a starter because the two dudes before him (Levi Williams-Wyoming and Josh Adkins-NMST/UTSA) were three-star recruits. So he is raw, but by all accounts he’s a leader in the locker room and has a decently strong arm. Plus, and I found this odd, he’s athletic but not a scrambler, mostly just bootlegs. I wrote this feature on him before the season started: https://valleyventana.org/10471/sports/new-qb-gombert-ready-for-the-limelight/

Covered him in HS. Here’s his stats https://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/high_school/scoreboard/?mkt=sanantonio&site=default&tpl=team&Sport=1&TeamID=228&SchoolID=&Season=2019&DistrictID=&SearchDate=05%2F11%2F20&SearchDateEnd=05%2F11%2F20&SearchLastName=&SearchFirstName=&Market=11&SearchType=Teams but they don’t really paint the full story. Not a great overall receiver room - it was mostly a rushing offense, with a fullback and wr splitting reps at halfback. He was a one-year starter because he was stuck behind two three-stars (Josh Adkins/NMST, Levi Williams/Wyoming)
