Per Footballscoop.com

NCAA: The NCAA announced Tuesday it could approve all football players to transfer one time and play immediately by as soon as April. Details here.

Wow so that means all those kids in the portal would be immediately eligible rather than just the grad transfers. Could certainly help in our pursuit of a xfer quarterback.

Right now I have more faith in Dayton LeBlanc and Dion Novil than I do Jason Bean.

Me too. But we have a dearth of quality defensive linemen and a stable of 3 star quarterbacks.

On the one hand this will allow the P5 to essentially cherry pick the best G5 players every year. But does it also let the G5 cherry pick players not getting playing time at the P5. Does it all even out or is that too optimistic a view. Whatever it is, the NCAA isn’t doing it for good intentions. Because they never do anything with good intentions.

No, colleges can’t contact student athletes until they’re in the portal.

Does anyone really think the big schools are going to abide by that?

Exactly. Just like every P5 says they dont pay players in some form or another. My cousin's fiancee's nephew that's 5 years old gets a cash deposit to cover some type of expense that then gets withdrawn by his parents and somehow ends up with the recruits parents and then gets to the player so money tracking is hard to do.
