Seth has shown a great willingness to offer ‘ships to his coaching buddies’ kids. Of course we approached this young man about playing here and it was agreed that he would pursue other opportunities.

I’m disappointed but I understand why. Seth and his staff aren’t perfect. They aren’t idiots either. 

I'm going to withhold my final judgement/assessment on that issue until such time as when SL's teams stop blowing 20+ point half time leads against CUSA opponents. But especially the Old Dominions and Charlottes of the world.....and any opponent we meet in a championship game or a friggin' bowl game. 

NOW, having said all that. I'm not discounting the possibility that some back channel overtures were made to Mr. Cobb and we got a negative response because he wanted to play somewhere else besides Denton. We would have then spared ourselves (for once) public embarrassment  and giving more ammunition to our opponents to use against us in the recruitment wars.
