Was he on the previous coaching staff at Mississippi State but not retained by The Pirate ?  Sometimes a new coach will want his own person for a particular position and a good coach is looking for a job.    I hope that is the situation here.

A clear improvement if he ends up being the hire. Respect to Coach Yellock but I remember a DRC article last spring about the DL and his comments just rubbed me the wrong way. I know you can't trash your own players but he made it seem as if we would be better up front in 2019.

I just hope he doesn't look at the job like Ekeler did and see it as a one year stop in between P5 coaching jobs.

"Less than three weeks ago, he was formally introduced as the defensive line coach at Memphis. Wednesday, he chose to leave the Tigers and accept the same position at Mississippi State.

Adams, a native of Meridian, left Memphis hanging exactly one week before Feb. 6’s National Signing Day."

Hopefully he is serious about this job if we give him the offer and not just hoping for the next P5 opening.
