Who needs A-Rod!? Early numbers

A-Rod has looked horrible early on!

Soriano looks Ok, but needs to show some more power. I'm sure Alex will come out of his funk, but you never know!

Both teams are 8-8 BTW.

A-Rod will break out big time soon and catch up. I think Soriano will have comparable if not better offensive numbers, especially with the advantage he has with his home park and that Showalter will let him run more than Torre will let A-Rod.

But, A-Rod is a Gold Glover at just about any position, he is just amazing defensively. Soriano has problems moving laterally and the defensive comparison is not only what sets A-Rod apart from Soriano, but every other good offensive player in the game.

Soriano is a talent and if there was any other middle infielder I would choose after A-Rod it would be him, but A-Rod is a once in a generation type of player.

I'm impressed with how much more plate discipline Soriano has this year than he had with the Yankees. On the second to last at bat of yesterdays game he was down in the count 2-2 I believe and fouled off about 3 strikes and ended up drawing a walk which let the tieing run come to the plate. Last season he would have probably struck out to be the last out of the game.
