Haven't seen the game.  What are the schemes?

A disciplined 4-2 defense and they disguised their pressure very well.

Here one of the two safeties is creeping up to show blitz.  I never recall seeing JMU’s recievers running free all day.  JMU’s offense made most of their advances on jump balls to their two big tight ends.

On offense NDSU would go 5 wide and run a RPO in which it looked as if all runs would have a lead blocker on one play...

....then come back with an old school power dive on another. This play went for 21 yards.

They control the ball and run to set up the pass and their O line is excellent at run blocking, thus very affective at pass blocking.

They ran the ball 25 times and only passed 5 times to build a 21-10 lead at the half, which would explain a little as to how their true freshman QB had zero interceptions this year. He’s not asked to solely win with his arm.

27 TD passes 0 interceptions. I’ll take those stats from a freshman all day. And 16-0 record....

28 TD’s passing, 14 TD’s rushing.

Plus...

Six different backs averaging 4.9 yards or more per carry.

Most importantly...

They ran for over 4800 yards and held their opponents to only 2575 on the ground.

That’s imposing your will on your opponent.
