It appears the NCAA approved that any player that played JUCO ball, that is in their FINAL year of eligibility will be allowed one additional year. I believe they did this as to level playing field for their dumb decision to give Diego an extra year. This also likely kills the idea that JUCO ball won't count against future eligibility and start their actual clock once they begin playing but they have done dummer, stuff those goofballs at the NCAA office.
Nobody blinks an eye when a guy moves up in the corporate world and jumps 3 or 4 times in 6 years, but when a college athlete does it for the same reason he's a greedy gus.
They are in the midst of deciding if they will allow current seniors whose eligibility is expiring, meaning this is their final year. If they were a JUCO kid to start they may get an additional year after this and I believe that impacts 2/3 of our current players that contribute. Could be exciting news!
The NCAA is powerless to stop NIL or the Portal. They lost both cases in the courts as well as the recent JUCO decision. Their power started waning when Oklahoma successfully sued them regarding control of games that would be shown on t.v. Quite honestly I think the NCAA has lost it's usefulness.
