Bad News for soccer team's Road Trip

and how long does it take to heal? This is very bad news, as Pina is the threat that has kept Marin from being triple covered. We do have a little depth at forward, but this is going to hurt. I still think that my analysis of the next three games, in Road Trip, is valid, but it will be much closer than it should be.

Bottom line the game tonight will be a good one and any Houston fans are invited to come out to U of H soccer field. For those concerned about sight lines this one should be less than good as they have a $4M nine lane track around the field (Tellez track stadium). If you do make it drop by and say hello, I'll be wearing a green shirt that says "North Texas Soccer Sunbelt Conf. Champs '01" with a soccer ball in the center. I know that in the sea of green that is currently expected that might not help much, so just look for the biggest greent shirt there on a fat old guy with a cane.

The MCL is the Medial Colateral Ligament in the knee. It is not nearly as bad as the dreaded ACL(Anterior Cruciate Ligament) tear. The MCL injury can take a couple of weeks to heal(strain to a partial tear), to a few months if it is a complete tear.

MEDIAL COLATERAL LIGAMENT (MCL)

The MCL is a 2-layered, fan shaped ligament that limits the ABDUCTION (moving away from the body) of the Tibia and external rotation.

Injury is normally caused mainly by side-to-side stress by CONTACT when the foot is planted to the ground.

The MCL strain is usually coupled with an ACL STRAIN or TEAR.

I've had a partial tear, my knee wanted to bend sideways, but it healed in a few weeks.

Hopefully Pina will come back in full health and with full confiudence in the knee in a short amount of time.

it can heal in a few weeks but nobody knows how serious hers is?? i did my mcl and i was out for 2 months and spent 3 weeks on crutches! i had a grade 2 tear where it had almost completely torn? but people, you can't rush it it hurts like hell! and is i still have problems aqnd i did mine 6 years ago. also depending on how serious it is?? she might need rehab? but she difinetly can't play or preactice she coudl end up tearing it more or doing her acl along with it? then she is done for the year!

i say she is out about amonth due to rehab that is needed
