OL Eric Williams (Lubbock Coronado): vs. Denton Ryan: L 56 – 14; 353 yards of total offense.

LB Jordan Brown (Huntsville, TX):  vs. Crosby: W 54 – 44; no stats available.

S Jason Kerl Jr. (Nolan Catholic; FW): vs. John Paul II: L 49 – 15; no stats available

OL Kade Bond (Magnolia): vs. Highland Park: L 63 – 28; no stats available

TE Christian Lee (Friendswood): vs. Cedar Park: L 31 – 14; no stats available.

OL Jett Duncan (The Woodlands): @ Cy-Woods: W 34 – 28 (3OT); no stats available

DB Jordan Nichols (Connally; Waco): vs. Longview Spring Hill: W 54 – 14; no stats available.

RB Isaiah Johnson (Lubbock Cooper): vs. El Paso Burges: W 49 – 7; appears to have not played due to injury.

WR Loronzo Thompson (Clear Brook): Season stats: 42 receptions for 578 yards and 6 TD’s, 6 rushes for 99 yards and 2 TD’s, 193 KO return yard, and 14 punt return yards.

DT Ta’Shoyn Johnson (Killeen): Season stats: 14 solo/8 assists for 22 total tackles and 8 TFL’s, 1 sack and 9 QB hurries.  States he only played in four games.

DE Kortlin Rausaw (Wylie):  Season stats: 29 solo/18 assist for 47 total tackles and 5 TFL’s, 4 sacks, 6 QB hurries, 2 passes defensed, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 caused fumbles.

Updated with game results minus Friendswood.  Friendswood is down 14-7 at the half.

Updated.  Tough weekend, but now these young men can turn their focus to Denton and helping us rebuild from a tough season.  Only Jordan Brown (Huntsville), Jett Duncan (The Woodlands),  Jordan Nichols (Waco Connally) and Isaiah Johnson (Lubbock Cooper) advance to the next round.

Congrats to all of our recruits that just completed their senior season and good luck to those still playing.

      Without knowing much about boxing, I think the powers will declare Paul the winner. There's a young generation of potential longterm viewers who grew up watching him make YouTube videos and having him beat Tyson brings too many potential viewers for the future of the sport. It's like introducing fast food in public schools in the 80s and 90s. Their future money depends on it.

      To SUMG’s point, I remember the Mean Green Club and the Mean Green 100 Club starting during the Hayden era. Remember the beautiful lime green sport coats given to the Mean Green 100 members ? I still have a decal on the wing window of my ‘77 sports car that I applied sometime after I bought the car in ‘77. And, I’m convinced we might still be in Fouts Field were it not for Rick V. Thanks.

      A lot of us old timers didn't want to make a change from NT to UNT. He went through 4 or 5 presidents while he was AD, I each who had their own idea as to how to market North Texas.In addition his budget was pocket change. You can thank Rick and C.Dan Smith for your new football stadium.

      Admittedly he did look in fantastic shape. If it's not over quickly then I see age related stamina dropping fast. I'll check it out... AFTER we win

      Tyson may be 31 years older, but he is still going to beat Paul like a rented mule. After seeing him at the weigh-in, I surmised that Tyson is in shape (for the first time in 30+ years) and still has his hand speed. Even if some of Tyson's punching power has diminished, he still has enough power to knockout a Youtuber.
