I think effective immediately, Juco will become the attractive route to take for many kids and college recruiters. Why go straight out of high school to a 4 (or 5) year university only to sit and redshirt. Go to Juco for 2 years of develop, while starting and take advantage of 4 more years of eligibility at the U?
College recruiters can pickup up "ready to play" juco kids that now have 4 years of eligibility. Obviously, the current 4-5 high school star recruit will continue to go directly to the U; taking advantage of the current largest NIL deals.
Anyway, just a thought
I'm not smart enough to understand how college athletes can be treated like pro athletes when convenient but not treated like pro athletes when inconvenient.
Apples to oranges. Any pro athlete can't jump from team to team under contract unless it's bought out in some way. They want to be paid like pro athletes but not treated like pro athletes when it's an inconvenience or detrimental. By all means, pay them, but bring all the other baggage as well.
