Players get one year to play wherever they want. I’m of the unproven opinion that the quality of the actual grad school is very far down the list of qualifications for the majority of those guys.

they just want to find a place they can have fun and win for one more year.

Grad Transfers are actually in it to get graduate degrees?  All these years I understood it to be an opportunity to get one more year of stats to try to get in the Draft.

You hear interviews from recent former NCAA athletes that had a "Graduate Degree" year and they'll openly say they literally never went to class.

I still wonder why anyone questions the main thesis of these comments.   NT hasn't been able to compete with SMU on recruiting grad. transfers.

There are obvious many rationale for choosing what school to transfer to: quality of grad school, best party place, best football, etc.

Who pays the most might be another reason.

As for as the academic requirements for athletes, I have absolutely no problem believing SMU is very lax.

One more year of stats, could be gained by staying put.

SMU by whatever means, has did a great job recruiting grads. They were smart enough to find a niche in recruiting.

This rule has created a mess and is ripe for abuse.

It is going to be interesting to see if universities reexamine their policies toward summer school.

Up til now, schools have almost mandated summer school to help keep players academic eligible and able to workout year long being unofficially observed

1.  Did we even compete, as in, try to sign players out of the Transfer Portal to the level that smuT did, or did we just look to fill holes?  Saying we haven't been able to compete when that isn't our focus is a stretch.  SL's focus has always been on the high school player while filling in with JUCO's and transfers.

2.  They can sell killing hookers and snorting blow.

We haven’t been able to compete with SMU, or we are not trying to?
