Thats the great thing about basketball, you don't have to. You get several good players and make it work in a system. Football is much harder to do this because you need more money and more skilled players.
It has been stated many times over, but no one is advocating dropping football, it's just more allocation to basketball than it has now. If that has to come from football, I think it makes sense. It really wouldn't take much at all. Probably what football spends on jock straps.
A cool photo op would have been the uniforms for the First Responders Bowl aboard the Mean Green Denton Fire Department fire engine. A unique combination.
This is exactly what I keep saying, but people wanna bring up culture this and culture that. Sure, it's the culture because everyone wants to see a losing team.
It's just a cultural artifact. Downsizing and treating employees like anonymous spreadsheet entries was not always so prevalent and along with that employees moved less, and were looked on poorly if they moved too much. None of those things are 'caused' directly by another, they move together.
If you look at Japan, they are still in a world where companies lay off less frequently and employees move less frequently, despite technology.
