I came off extremely bitter and judgmental against our coaching staff upper limits and capability. I've had 2 days to sober up and reflect on it...

And nothing has changed. There was no upside to Saturday. Not even the glory of watching the 'boys curb-stomp the giants. This team has no excuse to perform that badly. Am I wrong to expect better? Or are we going to settle back into #olddenton?

My mood is not good! At this point I am super happy I could not go to Cal.  Would hate to spend that cash to see another beat down. I will get over it...like I have for the last 50 years or so, but man, I hate going down to Dallas time and time again just to get my ass handed to me by SMU!  Getting beat is one thing.  I can handle that if the game is competitive and we play well and just come up a bit short. But, to get absolutely run out of the stadium is another matter! Going to take me a bit to get over this one.  I hope the team and coaching staff get over it much faster and figure out how to "put out the fire" before conference play.  Man, at this point I am not looking forward to seeing Cal or Houston! Yikes!

But, my Mean Green and I love 'em. Just going to take a few days to "recover" from this one, and looking at that Doak Walker bobblehead ain't helping at this point!

I've stuck by them so far. I'll stick by them another 50 years, the good lawd willing.

But the tuition cost of 3 degrees says I get to complain a little bit too.

The sad part is we have played at Ford stadium 4 times now and the coach that came the closest to beating them there? One Todd Dodge.

Who was beaten by Phil Bennett, who won only this game his last season in Dallas.

Buddy boy hate to break it to you but I’m a 3rd generation Cal Alum. Born and raised and still live in the Bay Area.

Most of our replacements will be newly recruited Texas HS seniors many of whom will sign a MG LOI this December; that is, unless SL wants a quick fix with umpteen numbers of transfers. (Methinks he’ll go the Texas & Oklahoma High Schools route, though).

      TX State to the PAC 2?

      It’s interesting because I know the perception of the new PAC and AAC is that the PAC will be stronger, but where would Texas State rather go? It seems like AAC for a variety of reasons. I’m not convinced the new PAC is better than the AAC. UNLV and New Mexico holding back in the MWC, with the Northern Illinois and GCU ads have the future PAC in a bit of limbo. They have to keep performing or they will fall back fast. The SBC and AAC currently are the more stable forces, hence a certain level of power and leverage lives there. To me the PAC must break the bank to get Memphis or they are not going to lift on takeoff. GMG

      Join the Infantry in Houston - Tuesday, 2/11 at 8pm

      Rob Lanier, former SMU head coach, found out what the Infantry could do last February at Moody Coliseum. So when he moved over to Rice, inside sources suggest he slipped Tim Spaghetti some cash to make sure his home game against UNT would be on a weeknight this season. But I say, "Too bad, Rob! You can't escape us!" If you're in Houston, or are retired and can make the trip, or want to use a couple of half days like I did, join us at the terrible Tudor Fieldhouse on Tuesday, 2/11 at 8 p.m. The game has the later start because it'll be on ESPNU as the "west coast game." There are just under a hundred seats left behind our bench which would be group-rated at $25. For the second straight year I want to sell the section out. What'll make it better is the sea of green will be on national TV. It'll be different without Scott Screamin' Pera on the Rice bench, but we'll still have plenty to taunt Lanier about. Like how his son has to follow him around to maintain a D1 scholarship. And don't forget the UNT Dallas debacle. Here's what we did last year. We bought about 70 tickets, plus whatever the team was allotted, and the local alumni who bought on their own. If you are interested in joining our group for the game, message me. I've got pending communication out with the Houston alumni chapter to see if they will plan to do anything before the game like last year.
