SMU right now. Always the next game! GMG!

I think your right but I think this is a question that could be asked differently.

Would you pick a single game from the entire schedule that would be the most meaningful win for the fan-base, filling the Stadium, getting publicity and that win would likely help recruiting the most.

This year I think that is Houston.

Just win. People keep wanting to get ahead of what's in front of NT..that Houston game is important but let's beat SMU and that will add to the interest of the Houston game and the elusive Appogee sell out.

No message board fan speculation has ever led to a loss on the field

Perhaps...there is a mental attitude that can affect the outcome of this game. Guess players are not allowed to read any of these post.

It's UH. They're our counterpart, it's an in-state game that will be covered in two of the largest media markets in the country, and we need to start being competitive with AAC teams not named SMU ahead of any kind of conference reshuffling.

If players are thrown off by message board posts, it's going to be a long season...

We have plenty of evidence right here that their families register and sometimes post on the board.  It’s hard for me to imagine a player NOT knowing what is said about them and the team..

I still say that if things on here effect the way they play it's going to be a long season.

If we lose to SMU a UH win loses a TON of its meaning.

- It will be viewed as a fluke and the story will be “North Texas lost to lowly SMU, so they can’t be that good.”   SMU beat #17 Houston last year.  Regionally and nationally that was seen more as a Houston lapse in concentration than as SMU being good.

- Apogee DOES NOT sell out against UH if we lose to SMU.  It’s not seen as two elite QB’s leading top flight G5 programs...it’s a well-regarded Houston team vs the team that couldn’t handle SMU
